Preparation of Spanish tortilla
Step 1 – You will peel the potatoes and cut them into very thin slices. It is very important that the potatoes are thinly sliced because they will cook evenly. When you have sliced all the potatoes, dry the slices with kitchen paper or a clean cloth to soak up all the liquid.
Step 2 – Peel and onion and cut them into small cubes.
Step 3 – Put 0.5dcl of olive oil in a heated pan. When you get the desired oil heat, add the onion. The onions will fry for about 5 minutes before you add the potatoes. Once you’ve put the potatoes in the pan, don’t turn it every few seconds as your potatoes could crack. The best solution is to have a cooker that has a flat head and that will give you the ability to turn whole potatoes. Let the potatoes combine with the onions and be baked. Once the potatoes are baked, take the contents out of the pan and set them aside.
Step 4 – Crack the eggs and whisk them with a teaspoon of salt and pepper. You can put additional spices, such as ground pepper and the like.
Step 5 – Mix the potatoes with the eggs in a separate bowl and pour the mixture back into the pan. Allow the mixture to bake and after about 5-10 minutes take a spatula and slowly separate the edges of your Spanish tortilla from the pan. Turn the Spanish tortilla to the other side. To make it easier for you, place the plate on top of the Spanish tortilla and turn along with the pan. This will make it easier to turn the dish.
Step 6 – Spanish tortilla is done! Place in a plate and cut into 6 slices and serve.
Spanish tortilla serving ideas
Spanish tortilla is an excellent separate dish, but if you are going to serve it as a separate dish, it would not be bad to serve it with a bowl of salad. There are countless salads that would go perfectly with this dish, and below you have a recipe for one of, in our opinion, the finest with Spanish tortilla.
All you need is fresh arugula, freshly grated parmesan (or hard cheese of your choice), freshly squeezed juice of one lemon, a little pepper, and olive oil. Wash and dry the arugula, cut into strips and mix with the rest of the food. Finally, sprinkle with grated parmesan that will round out the whole story. Serve cold with hot or chilled Spanish tortilla.
If you think that this salad is not the best choice for you, or you may not like salads, there is another option. Take one clove of garlic, slice it, and put in the sour cream. You will get the perfect dip for the Spanish tortilla and you can store it in the fridge for up to 2 days.
Enjoy your meal!
